Education has the power to change the direction of a life when it is supported with care and intention. For Nisha Shoukath, initiatives like Karuna are rooted in a simple belief: children learn best when they feel supported, valued, and given the tools to believe in themselves.
In 2023, this belief took shape through People10’s Karuna Initiative at Ramakrishna Samagra Shikshana Kendra in Bengaluru. The effort focused on strengthening access to education for children from financially challenged and socially vulnerable backgrounds, ensuring that learning begins with dignity and confidence.
Support That Enables Learning
Through this initiative, essential educational materials were provided to 500+ students, including school bags, stationery kits, water bottles, geometry boxes, and cursive handwriting books. These resources were carefully selected, not as one-time donations, but as everyday tools that help children participate fully in their education.
Beyond the company’s contribution, Nisha’s personal involvement reflected the values that guide Karuna: consistency, empathy, and action. Her role in leading the initiative reinforces the idea that meaningful support is most effective when leaders remain closely connected to the communities they serve.
A School Grounded in Values
Ramakrishna Samagra Shikshana Kendra is known for its approach to holistic education. Inspired by the philosophies of Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and Sri Vinobha Bhave, the school emphasizes simplicity, self-sufficiency, respect for nature, and moral grounding alongside academic learning.
Many students arrive from challenging home environments. By ensuring access to nutritious meals and a stable learning environment, the school creates a space where children can focus on growth rather than their circumstances.

The impact of the day extended beyond materials. The People10 team members who volunteered brought encouragement, warmth, and a sense of shared purpose, reminding students that their education matters and that they are not alone in their journey.
